About Us

Who are the entities involved, and how are they affiliated with each other?  Here are the details, #1-5 below -- Whew!  There will be a test on Monday!  No, just kidding.  All you really need to know is that once this process has begun and continues, it's easy:

A check arrives every month!

Okay, here we go from top to bottom:

1.  The major credit cards are Visa© and MasterCard© and those names are trademarks of their respective companies.  We do not work for them nor have any contracts with them.

2.  They contract with credit card processing companies who write the programs for credit card terminals and handle certain aspects of the credit card transactions.  Of these, we chose Paymentech Merchant Services, primarily because our bankcard companies have found Paymentech to give the best service and the most competitive rates/fees.  Paymentech will provide your new 24/7 customer service (for merchants) and can instantly pull up your merchant account and answer your questions.

3.  These processors contract with ISOs (Independent Service Organizations) to find and contract merchants for processing credit cards through them.  The ISO we have selected is POS Card Systems, Inc. ("POS" refers to Point of Sale).  They not only have decades of integrity, but also with a portfolio of thousands of merchants, have achieved some of the lowest rates/fees with Paymentech.  Both POS Card Systems and Paymentech Merchant Services are officially registered with Visa© and MasterCard© .

4.  The owner of American Bankcard Company (ABC) is registered with POS Card Systems.  The bankcard contract will be prepared and sent to you from the POS Card Systems office in Richmond, Virginia.  The "rebates/rewards/ finders' fees/etc." are calculated from ABC's profits and paid to Charitable Funding, Inc. (CFI), a Virginia corporation.

5.  Think of Great Commission Funding (GCF) as the Christian branch, so to speak, of CFICFI and GCF are the same people; same founder.  Since our original idea is to help fund the Great Commission, churches (and missions, etc.) receive an extra 10% starting at the beginning of the second year of being with us.  Charities under only the Charitable Funding plan do not receive this.

100% of what ABC pays to CFI is paid to its participating merchants and churches, including GCFCharitable Funding's sole purpose is to pass on the profit- sharing that this website offers to merchants and churches.

Clear as mud?!  Yes, we know it seems a bit complicated, but it works very well and very simply: Merchants get a new credit card processing number.  We reprogram their terminals, and "bingo," money starts flowing back to the merchants and to the churches, and funding The Great Commission is helped!

Frequently Asked Questions

1.  What if I am only a "small" merchant?

Well, every dollar counts -- to you and to your church.  You might make referrals of larger merchants, and receive additional rebates.

2.  How do I get started?

Give us a call at Charitable Funding and leave your name, phone, etc., and we will give you a call back.

3.  When I give you a referral, do you use my name when you call them?

That will be up to you.  One of the questions we will ask you is how do you want us to handle that referral.  We will give you options from delicate to direct, anonymous to whatever you want.  You will tell us how you want us to handle it, and we will!

4.  How long does this process take? [of a merchant switching to Paymentech and POS Card Systems and receiving the first check]

We need to get a merchant application in your hand and then back to us.  After that, about a week to get you a new merchant number.  Once these things are done, we schedule a time to reprogram your bankcard terminal (fifteen minutes or less, usually), and then you are now processing credit cards where YOU will be sharing in the profits!

Then, at the end of that current month of processing, Paymentech tabulates everything, and about the 25th day of the next month, sends a check to POS Card Systems corporate office.  They send a check and a list of profit per each merchant to their Richmond office, and American Bankcard Company calculates the 10% right from the profit list [no more, no less], and passes that exact amount (10% for each business, 10% for each church or mission or charity, 10% for each referral finder, etc.) on to Charitable Funding who writes and mails the checks to each one.

Whew!  Like we said, once this process is all set up, it's easy: every month a check arrives for YOU!

Let's get started!  Give us a call.
